ATOMS:
An atom is the smallest particles of an element. It maintains its identity in all physical changes and chemical changes. The size of an atom is extremely small.

MOLECULES: 
Molecules represent a group of two or more atoms which are chemically bonded together.  
                                        OR
A molecule is also defined as the smallest particle of the element or a compound which is capable of and independent existence and describe all the properties of that substance.
