Hydrogen (H2), oxygen (O2), and chlorine (Cl2) molecules, for example, each contains two atoms. Another form of oxygen, ozone (O3), has three atoms, and sulfur (S8) has eight atoms. All elemental molecules are made of atoms of a single element.

Atoms - Small particles of elements which are invisible but can't found in free stages. Atom combined together and form molecules. Atom are represented by symbol of elements.

  • Example H, O, N, Br, Fe, C, Cl, Ch etc.

Molecules - The particles of substances which can be found in free stages but can be separated/ divided into the atoms are called molecules. Molecules can be devoted by molecular formula.

  • Example - \sf{H_2,\: O_2, \: N_2,\:H_2O\:etc}

Law of chemical combination -

1. Law of conservation of mass was introduced by A. Lavoisier in 1774.

2. According to this law mass neither be created nor be destroyed.

3. Total mass before the change will be equal to the total mass after the change.

  • Reactant Product.
