Explanation:

The atomic radius of a chemical element is a measure of the size of its atoms, usually the mean or typical distance from the center of the nucleus to the boundary of the surrounding shells of electrons. ... Electrons do not have definite orbits, or sharply defined ranges.

there are three types of atomic radius

1.covalent radius

2.metallic radius

3.vanderwaals radius

1. covalent radius :The covalent radius, rcov, is a measure of the size of an atom that forms part of one covalent bond. It is usually measured either in picometres or angstroms.

2.metallic radius :Metallic radius is defined as one-half of the distance between the two adjacent metal ions in the metalliclattice. This radius depends on the nature of the atom as well as its environment—specifically, on the coordination number (CN), which in turn depends on the temperature and applied pressure.

3.Vanderwaals radius:The Van der Waals radius is equal to one half the distance between two unbonded atoms when the electrostatic forces between them are balanced. In other words, it is half of the closest distance between two atoms that aren't bonded or within the same molecule.
