atomicity is the total number of atoms present in one molecule of an element, compound or a substance.
monoatomic - consist of 1 atom
diatomic - consist of 2 atoms
triatomic - consist of 3 atoms
polyatomic - consist of 4 or more atoms
examples :-
oxygen (O2) has an atomicity of 2 and ozone (O3) an atomicity of 3

Shreya278: Thanks
Shreya278: N may I know.....how to calculate the atomicity of H2SO4
Shreya278: Is it 7??
ritmili25: yes it is 7.....2 atoms of hydrogen + 1 atom of sulphur + 4 atoms of oxygen = 7 atoms
Shreya278: Ohkk..thnxxx a lot!!!!!!
