Answer:

Explanation:

The Aufbau principle dictates the manner in which electrons are filled in the atomic orbitals of an atom in its ground state. It states that electrons are filled into atomic orbitals in the increasing order of orbital energy level. According to the Aufbau principle, the available atomic orbitals with the lowest energy levels are occupied before those with higher energy levels.

Answer :

1) The aufbau principle is based on (i) increasing order of energies of orbital.(ii)Pauli's exclusion principle , and (iii) hund's rule of maximum multiplicity.

2) According to this principle in ground state of an atom , an electron will occupy the orbital of lowest energy first . If the orbital of lowest energy is already occupied, the electron will be filled in orbital of next higher energy. It is based on two rules.

3)Out of the two atomic orbital in an atom , orbital with lowest n+l value will be filled first .

4)When two atomic orbitals have same n+l value , one with lowest n value is filled first
