auroras are beautiful coloured lights visible in high latitude (arctic and antarctic) regions of earth. this phenomena is not only seen on earh but also on other planets.

when there is a solar wind produced from the sun it accelerates a  stream of electrified particles. when these particles interfere with the magnetosphere of earth it produces coloured lights in the sky.

it is called as aurora austrealis in south pole and aurora borealis in north pole
