Autocorrelation refers to the case when your errors are correlated with each other. In layman terms,if the current observation of your dependent variable is correlated with your past observations, you end up in the trap of autocorrelation. It is often an issue when the data is collected over time. You will observe and High R square value even if there is absolutely no relation between the dependent and explanatory and variables.
