Bacterial diseases are infectious diseases due to causative mediums like pathogens that can be transferred from one individual to another. The most common type of Bacterial disease and hence the most recurring which is found all over the world is Cholera (Vischichika of ayurveda)
Cholera is a highly communicable Bacterial disease caused by vibrio cholerae (= V. commae) which is transmitted through contaminated food, water, drinks (fomite transmission) and direct as vomits and stool of patient contain innumerable pathogens. House flies spread the pathogens. Floods, fairs, wars, and other calamities often lead to epidemic outbreak. If left untreated, the disease leads to collapse marked by sunken eyes, hollow cheeks, bluish colour, subnormal temperature, washerman's hands and feet (sunken feet and hands), shallow quick breathing due to which may, ultimately lead to death or slow recovery.
