buffer stock is the stock of grains namely of wheat and rice prouduced by farmers and buy through the government through Food corporation of india (FCI) .The FCI purchase wheat and rice from surplus areas. The farmer are paid with pre announced price. The price is called Minimum Support Price. The MSP is declared by government every year before sowing season to provide information to the farmers for raising crops. The cross are stored in grainaries. Buffer stock is heplful in food security it distribute grains in remote areas or in poor starta of society also known as issue price lower than market price.This help resolve the problem of shortage of food during adverse condition
