The main difference between Bakelite and Melamine are as follows:
1.Bakeite is thermosetting plastic , it cannot be molded again wheras Melamine, being a thermoplastic , can be molded any number of times and reshaped.
2.BAKELITE OCCURS NATURALLY AND BAKELITE IS MAN MADE.
3.Bakelite is a synthetic plastic and melamine is an organic compound.
4. Bakelite is best insulator hence used in handles of cooking utensils, switch boards, radio, telephone casings etc. whereas Melamine is heat resistant, it is used in various industrial application.
