the reaction between the given compounds are written in short forms, it becomes easier for the chemist to read them fast, so the chemical equation is the symbolic representation of all the chemical formulae, and the balanced chemical equation means the no of atoms or the atomic masses of each atom involved must be equal in whole reaction.

for eg: H2+02->H20

but above equation is not balanced, hence to balance u need to make no of atoms equal on both side of arrow, left side are reactants, right is product.

so make no of atoms equal on both sides.

2H2+O2->2H20

NOW, ITS BALANCED, COUNT NO IF ATOMS OF EACH ITS SAME ON BOTH SIDE, HENCE ITS BALANCED CHEMICAL EQUATION.
