A substance used to neutralize an acid is termed as base.

An Alkali is a base dissolved in water.

Alkali in soluble in water but bases are not soluble.

BASE :- It is a chemical compound which is bitter in taste and Soappy and turn red litmus to blue.

Eg - sodium oxide Sodium hydrogen calcium etc.

ALKALI:- The base which is dissolve in water is called alkali.

Eg - NaoH, KOH, Mg(OH)2
