The Frog in the poem, ' The Frog and the Nightingale' plays a very crucial role in the poem. Before the Nightingale had come to the bog, the Frog was the only 'musician' in the bog. He was unrivalled. However, with the Nightingale around, he would not gain any glory as her voice was sweet and everybody loved it. He made it his job to eliminate the Nightingale. By trainiing her in such a way, that the creatures of the bog would lose interest in her song. As a result of his training , the Nightingale burst a vein and died. This let the Frog sing unrivalled once again. His aim was complete. If it were not for the Frog, the Nightingale would have been famous for her music and would not have died.
