Bespoke software is like custom-made software or tailored software or software specific to one organization.

This is in contrast to off-the-shelf software like MS Office, which is available in shops or on internet.  One can start using it straightaway.  But it does not have any features specific to one customer.

Bespoke software is made for the organization, as per the needs that change from time to time.  This will need to find a developer (individual or a company).   Then specifications are to be given and the software life cycle management comes into picture.  This process is time consuming and thus the software becomes more expensive.

But suppose a company has a long life and wants to have custom-built software that will take care of its future needs too.  As and when some changes are required for expansion of the company or change of its business, the new features can be added.  Off the shelf software will not be able to do that.
