Bhabhar is porus in nature.the Himalayan rivers while they are flowing down,deposit some stones,gravel,sediments in a narrow belt of 8 to 16 kms width found which is parallel to the foot hills of shivaiks.this feature is only called as bhabhar.

the rivers ,after descending from the mountain deposit pebbles in a narrow belt of about 8 to 16 km width line parallel to the slopes of the shiwaliks is known as bhabar.
