bhabar is a region south of the lower himalayas and the Shiwalik hills . It is the alluvid apron of sediments washed down form the Siwaliks along the norther edge of the indogangetic plain

The river, after descending from the mountains deposit pebbles in a narrow belt of about 8 to 16km in width lying parallel to the slopes of the shiwaliks is known as bhabar.
