  • The Bhabar is a narrow belt about 8-10km wide running in East to west direction along the foot of the Shiwaliks of Himalayan Range with a remarkable continuity from the Indus to the Tista.

  • The Bhabar belt is comparatively narrow in the east and extensive in the western and north-western hilly region. The area is not suitable for agriculture and only big trees with large roots thrive in this belt.
