Bhangar :

• The bhangar soils are found in higher reaches above 30 m above the flood level

• These soils are coarser in texture

• The bhangar is composed of lime nodules or kankar and has a clayey composition

• It covers large parts of northern plains

• Bhangar soil is older deposits of the alluviam soil

• It is not as fertile as the khadar soil

khadar :

• The khadar soils are found in the low areas of a valley , bottom of a valley which are flooded every year

• These soils are finer in texture

• The khadar is light in colour and is composed of newer deposits

• The khadar soil is new and younger deposits of the alluviam soil

• The khadar soil is comparatively more fertile than bhangar soil

• This soil is renewed every year
