It is the theory that tells how the universe came into existence. It tells that our universe began at a single moment of time with an intence burst of energy. Edwin Hubble had discovered that the galaxies are moving away from each other (he had not made Hubble telescope, but this was named after him). So after his discovery, more scientifically investigation and researchs were taken out to study more about the theory. There are many other theories which tells us how the universe was created but the Big Bang Theory is the most famous one.
