Binomial Nomenclature provides a distinct and proper scientific names to a variety of organisms. And each name comprises of two parts- the first part consists of its generic name and the second part is the specific epithet ( species name).

What is Nomenclature ?

=> The process of giving scientific names to different organisms of living world is known as Nomenclature .

Some Extra Tips about it :

•The Scientific names of all living organisms are written in italics.

• The name consists of 2 parts .

• The first part is genus while the second part is species.

• It must be written in italics.

• If hand written then it must be underlined.

Binomial Nomenclature :

This system was firstly used by Swedish biologist Carolus Linnaeus.

He used it in 1753 .
