Biomagnification➙ The process by which a compound increases its concentration in the tissues of organisms as it travels up the food chain.

▶Ex:- Dangers is any small fish that eats plankton that has been tainted with mercury.

❖ The opposite of biomagnification is biodilution which results in dilution of substances as we move up the food chain.

❖ Effects of it's vary widely depending on the pollutant, organism & ecosystem in question.

❖ It is essentially the accumulation of a certain substance like a toxic chemical, in the tissues of an organism as we move up the food chain.
