It is the process in which improved the nutrition in crops is known as biofortification. ex :- sweet potato, rice etc.

Breeding of crops with higher levels of vitamins and minerals or higher protein and healthier fats is the biofortification. It is the most practical means to improve public health. Breeding for improved nutritional quality is undertaken with the objective of improving:-

• protein content and quality
• oil content and quality
• vitamin content
• micronutrient and mineral content
