  • Biogas is produced by the decomposition of organic wastes under anaerobic condition.
  • The organic wastes from which the biogas is produced are the agricultural wastes, manure, food waste, plant materials and animal waste.
  • The primary source of biogas production is cattle dung.
  • It is also called as gobar gas and it is a renewable natural gas.
  • The main components of biogas are methane and carbon-dioxide.
