The classification of organisms based on its structure, food making capacity, number of cells etc is called biological classification.
Classification :-
1. Two kingdom classification system
In 1758 Linnaeus divided all organisms into two categories - plantae and animalia. But by doing further research we come to know that there are more categories of organisms.
2. Five kingdom classification system
In 1969 another scientist named RH Whittaker proposed this model of classification system. In this classification system organisms are divided into 5 categories - plantae, animalia, protista, fungi and bacteria.
They are divided on the basis of these :-
Cell structure
Modes of nutrition
Reproduction
Thallus organisation
Phylogenetic relationships
