INTRODUCTION:Nitrogen is the most abundant element in the atmosphere
Biological nitrogen fixation :Atmospheric nitrogen occur primarily in inert form or non reactive form that few organism can use therefore it must be converted into a compound or fixed form in a process called nitrogen fixation .
A number of bacteria (rhizobium, nitrosomonas, nitrobacters) and blue green algae fix atmospheric nitrogen into compound in their own body and convert into organic nitrogen (active compound )
.As they die they add nitrogen to the soil and it is utilized by plants for growth.
