In Biology it is required in The Electron Transport Chain which is the third step in Aerobic Respiration. After Glycolysis and Krebs Cycle the electron transport chain takes place. The Oxygen that we take from the air through breathing becomes the final molecule in the Electron Transport Chain. This Oxygen takes the form of anion and reacts with the hydrogen ion as a result water is formed.
