Biomagnification , also known as bioamplification or biological magnification, is the increasing concentration of a substance, such as a toxic chemical, in the tissues of organisms at successively higher levels in a food chain.

As human being occupy the top level in any food chain , the maximus concentration of these chemicals get accumulated in our bodies. This is called Biomagnification.T his is the reason why our food grains such as wheat and rice, vegetable and fruits and even meat contain varying amounts of pesticides residues. They cannot always be removed by washing or other means .
