Biosphere can be further be divided into three physical divisions i.e., lithosphere (land), hydrosphere (water), and atmosphere (air).
⬇️⬇️⬇️
=> The outer solid crust of Earth which we call land is known as lithosphere.
=> Its upper weathered part forms the soil.
=> The water component of Earth is called hydrosphere.
=> 75% of the Earth's surface covered with water in the form of seas, rivers, lakes, ponds, etc.
=> The blanket of air that covers whole Earth is known as atmosphere.

• Biosphere has two types of components, biotic and abiotic.
• Living beings mainly are the biotic components of the biosphere.
• Air, water, soil, etc. forms the non-living or abiotic component of the biosphere.
• Both the types of these provide resources for the basic needs of life forms.
• However, the main energy for supporting all these life forms is basically from the sun.
• Sun's energy is used in the synthesis of food for all the living beings present on our planet i.e., Earth.
