In any population the natural capacity of maximum growth which occurs in ideal environmental conditions. The value of biotic potential is very high for every organisms. If it is not checked or prevented, then number of any species will be much more, e.g.
- Bacteria:- one bacterium divides in 20 minutes and can make a layer of 30 cm. On the whole surface of earth.
- Paramecium:- one paramecium divides three times in 48 hours and in a total of 5 years, it occupies a volume of 10,000 on earth.
- Elephant:- one elephant in 100 years of life span gives birth to 6 young ones. If all young ones be survived, then in 750 years a total of 1,90,000000 elephant are produced.
