it is a compact small mass of matter having tremendous force of gravity which doesn't allow any particle , radioactive or electromagnetic waves to escape from it. and thus it cannot be seen as it's gravity doesn't allow even light to escape from it .

The radius of a black hole is related to its mass by the simple formula R = 3 M ,where M is the mass of the black hole in units of the sun's mass, and R is the radius of the Event Horizon .
