A black hole has a boundary, known as the event horizon. This is the point where the escape velocity is more than the speed of light.  The gravity is just strong enough to prevent even light from escaping. Because nothing can travel faster than light, everything else will get dragged back also.

We cannot see what is inside the event horizon of a black hole because light  from there can never reach us. Even if we could (manage to) send a robotic probe into the black hole, it could never communicate back to us. From the outside, you can't tell what is inside a black hole apart from its mass and the rotation.

BUT if you "somehow" managed to get near where they say there is a black hole, well, you will see nothing really. If you circle around it, you'll notice that it's spherical. And if it's spinning – which is likely, as most things in the universe do to some degree – then the black hole will be wider around the middle, rather than a perfect circle.
BBC have a clear blog report on this u may see that.
