What is blacklash error? how does it arise and how does it avoid
Answers
Explanation:
Backlash error is the error in motion which occurs when gears change direction. It is usually arises through lost motion in a mechanism caused by gaps between the moving parts. It can be seen when the direction of movement between gears is reversed, thus the lost motion is taken up before the reversal motion is complete. The error normally occurs because there is always some gap between the trailing face of the driving tooth gears and the leading face gears of the tooth behind it on the driven gear, it is caused because that gap must be closed before force can be transferred to the new direction. It is usually built into the speed reducers to let the gears mesh and to provide space for lubricating oil between gears thus prevents tooth damage and overheating.
