What is blood clotting ? Write the blood clotting steps ?
Answers
The process by which a blood clot forms is termed coagulation. A blood clot is a stationary within a vessel or the heart.
steps:-
》Primary Hemostasis: Also known as platelet plug formation, in this step the blood platelets get activated to form a plug at the site of injury.
》Secondary Hemostasis: There are clotting or coagulation factors in blood, which are actually proteins. When there is an injury to a blood vessel, these factors interact with each other in a cascade of reactions that finally result in the conversion of fibrinogen into fibrin strands.
Answer:
Explanation:
Blood Clotting:-
The conversion of liquid blood into a jelly from when blood vessels are damaged is called clotting of blood.
Blood clotting occurs in following steps :-
◙ When blood is released from the damaged blood vessels, the platelets release a substance called thromboplastin.
Injured tissue + Platelets ==> Release of thromboplastin.
◙ The thromboplastin converse the protein prothrombin into thrombin in presence of calcium.
Prothrombin ==> Calcium and thromboplastin.
◙ Now, fibrinogen present in the blood plasma is converted into fibrin due to catalytic activity of thrombin.
Fibrinogen ==> Thrombin ==> Fibrin.
◙ Fibrin forms a mesh or jelly like mass at the injured site. RBCs get entangled in this mesh and ultimately form a blood clot.
Fibrin + RBCs ==> Blood Clot.
