Answer:

Blood is a connective tissue in the human body. Its function is to transport substances all around the body, including waste, glucose, hormones, oxygen, etc. The blood is composed of five major parts:

(i) Red Blood Cells (RBCs): These contain hemoglobin which binds with Oxygen and helps us immensely with cellular respiration and transportation of Oxygen.

(ii) White Blood Cells (WBCs): WBCs help us fight infections and bacteria entering our blood stream through wounds or external injuries. They often protect us from diseases.

(iii) Platelets: These are another type of cells present in the blood. These prevent the blood from flowing out of the body and they clot the our wounds.

(iv) Lymph: This fluid helps is present between intercellular spaces and allows diffusion of different substances into the cells of the body.

(v) Plasma: This comprises 90% of the blood, and contains hormones, nutrients, proteins etc... and helps in transportation of them.

I hope this helps!!
