Some functions of blood are as follows :-
- Oxygen is transported by blood to the tissues of the body for the breakdown of digested food.
- Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) is transported to the lungs by the blood plasma.
- The digested and absorbed nutrients are transported by the blood to the tissues.
- Nitrogenous wastes are transported by the blood to the Kidneys.
- Blood helps in the transportation of various hormones from the glands to the target organs.
- Blood helps in the rapid healing of wear and tear by forming clots at the wounded sites with the help of platelets.
