Blood is the fluid which flows in blood vessels. It transports substances like digested food from small intestine to the other parts of body. It also transports oxygen from the lungs to the cells of the body. It also transports waste for removal from the body. The blood comprises 3 type of cells : The red blood cells, White blood cells and the Platelets. Red blood cells contains a red pigment called Haemoglobin. Haemoglobin mixes with oxygen and transports to all the parts of body. White blood cells fight against germs and viruses. Platelets help in cloting of blood. Hundreds of people die due to unavailabilty of blood. Hence, Blood donation are done. Donated blood are stored in Blood banks.
