With the increase in the size and mass of halogen atom vander wall forces of attraction increases due to which boiling point increases. So, boiling point of ethyl bromide is higher than ethyl chloride.

Hope this will help you....

hey mate.....☺️☺️☺️☺️

Boiling point of ethyl bromide is high then of chlorine because of two reasons. 1) we knew that when an atom size increases vanderwall force increases which tights the bonds so from that we knew that bromide and chloride both aatach to ethyl but bromide has large size so vanderwall forces increases and.tights the bond which are not easily break compare to ethyl bromine 2) boiling point.is directly proportional to polarity as we knew tha bromine.is more.electronegative then chlorine so bromine increases polarity more and.we.also know.tha polarity increases means ionic character developed which are not easily broken. now from two reasons.we says that ethyl bromide has more.boiling point.then ethyl chloride
