bolus is a small and soft round mass of chewed food. the tongue helps in mixing the chewed food with saliva.

 the food we eat gets chewed and get mixed with saliva in the mouth. the substance which s formed by the mixture food chewed and saliva is called as bolus .it helps the food to get easily digested  .when the food enters into the mouth our teeths keeps on cutting the food into tiny parts ,this process is called chewing .movement of tongue plays important role .in this process . the tongue helps the chewed food to get mixed with saliva
