Monsoons are interspersed with rainless intervals which are related to the movement of the monsoon trough. These wet and dry spells in the monsoons are known as break in monsoons.

Monsoon season is composed of number of rainless intervals in between and at this time particular time there will be no rainfall .After heavy rainfall there will be an breakthrough for it or the rainfall stops suddenly for sometime and again there will be heavy rainfall .This wet and dry spells in the monsoon season called as break in monsoons
