Breathing is the process of moving air into and out of the lungs to facilitate gas exchange with the internal environment, mostly by bringing in oxygen and flushing out carbon dioxide.
The respiratory system is a biological system consisting of specific organs and structures used for gas exchange in animals and plants.
The process of taking air into the lungs is inspiration, or inhalation, and theprocess of breathing it out is expiration, or exhalation. Air is inhaled through the mouth or through the nose. ... Air pressure in the lungs rises, so air flows from the lungs and up and out of respiratory system through the nose or mouth.
