Cryptogams are the plants who do not have flowers, fruits and seeds. These plants are further divided into Thallophyta, Bryophyta and Pteridophyta. The plants included in Bryophyta are thaloid, multicellular and autotrophic. They reproduce by spore formation. The body structure of these plants is flat ribbon like long without true roots, stems and leaves. Instead they have stem-like or root-like and leaf like parts called rhizoids. They do not have specific types of tissues for conduction of food and water .These plants are called the amphibians of the plant kingdom as they grow in moist soil but need water for reproduction. For e.g. Moss, marchantia, etc.
