Buffer stock is a stock that was created by the government to provide food to the weaker sections of the society at lower price. It is collected by the FCI (food corporation of India) and the prices of grains are announced much before the sowing of seeds .

diyamalik0701: Can you tell me plz it is right or wrong: Buffer stock is the stock of food grains, namely wheat and rice procured by the government through FCI. The FCI purchases wheat and rice from the farmers in states where there is surplus production. The farmers are paid a pre-announced price for their crops. This price is called Minimum Support Price ( MSP).
AnjaliRajput2: yeah it's true
