What is CaCl2? Why is it so?

Calcium chloride is a salt made from strong base and strong acid.

It is so because it is made from these strong base and strong acids , Hydrochloric acid and calcium hydroxide. It is ionic in nature and carry electricity in molten state and has high melting and boiling point.
