What is called milky galaxy

Answer:Our galaxy is called the Milky Way because it appears in the sky as a milky band of light when you really see it in a dark area. This makes it very difficult to calculate the number of Milky Way stars from our position inside the galaxy. Our best guess is that tell us the Milky Way is made up of about 100 billion stars.
