it is a region in the space where gravitational force is so high, due to which even light cant escape frm it..

It's quite simple that when a star looses it's components like gases along with the energy the density of star goes decreasing and decreasing and decreasing so that it ends up into nothing but a empty space creating a suction ot vacuum effect from it. That empty space is called a black hole
