(1) Canal rays : An anode ray is a beam of positive ions that is created by certain types of gas discharge tubes. They were first observed in Crookes tubes during experiments by the German scientist Eugen Goldstein, in 1886.
(2) Atom structure:An atom is the smallest constituent unit of ordinary matter that has the properties of a chemical element. Every solid, liquid, gas, and plasma is composed of neutral or ionized atoms. Atoms are very small; typical sizes are around 100 picometers.

the canal rays are positively charged radiations consisting of particles which have a charge equal in magnitude but opposite in sign to that of the electrons the mass of canal rays particles is 2000 times as that of the electrons this particles is known as protons.
