What is canal rays?What is the function of pressure in it?Which gas is taken in it and how does it's colour changes?

these are anode rays travelling from anode to cathodes,lons travel from positive terminal to negative under low pressure gas as gas behave ideally under low pressure and there is least randomness. colour formation can be explained as there is high potential between two terminals when ion from highly electro positive travels to highly electronegative terminal they combine with negative terminal in order to release light in visible region.
