Captain Swing" was the legendary leader of the laboring rural poor who came up to abolish the beating machines in England during 1830.
The sum of rural laborers in England had been distended by the return of sailors and soldiers post the Battle of Waterloo (1815), and around 250,000 men were release from military service.
This swamped the labor market, creating a permanent surplus of labor and reducing the wages of the working class. As the result of this compliance the Swing riot was commended in 1830, which is called Swing Event.
