carbonation or carbonisation is caused by the de composition of the ruins of plants, trees, and animals which are of some millions of years ago. when they decompose in earth or get buried the heat which is usually produced by the earth is released.due to that heat this buried animals and plants burn for so many days and form as coal.so the formation of coal from the ruins of the plants and animals of millions of years ago is called carbonation.
