The cardiac cycle is a well-synchronized relaxation and contraction of the heart that occurs at a specific rhythm, coordinated by the electrical impulses generated from theSinoatrial node and atrioventricular node, and conducted through Purkinje fibers. The complete cardiac cycle extends between 0.6 and 0.8 sec, which is counted as one heartbeat. The heart rate is measured as beats per minute.

The heart is a four-chambered organ with right atrium and left atrium on the top and right ventricle and left ventricle in the bottom. Deoxygenated blood reaches the right atrium from the upper half of the body throughsuperior vena cava (SVC) and from the lower half of the body through inferior vena cava(IVC). The left atrium receives oxygenated blood from lungs through pulmonary veins. Both the ventricles receive blood from respective atrium through tricuspid for right heart and mitral valves for left heart (also called as atrioventricular valves). Similarly, blood flows from the right ventricles to pulmonary artery via pulmonary valve and from the left ventricle to aorta via aortic valve. The pulmonary and aortic valves are also called as semilunar valves. The right side of the heart, therefore, receives deoxygenated blood and the left side of the heart receives oxygenated blood.

hope this will be help you
